Active Older Adult Programs
Senior Program Information
Our Active Older Adult Programs are being held in-person at the San Marcos Activity Center. For more information about these programs, click on the corresponding page on the side menu. Make sure to visit our Active Older Adult Special Events page for information on upcoming special programs.
Masks at the San Marcos Activity Center and other City facilities are optional. Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms is discouraged from entering a City facility, park, or recreational area.
All participants in any San Marcos Parks and Recreation Program must agree that they have read and understand the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department Release and Waiver of Liability. Please click here to view and sign the Release and Waiver of Liability.
For those not ready to attend in-person, indoor Active Older Adult programs, the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department is still your go to place for recreation, leisure, education, health, and wellness resources through COVID-19. We are committed to ensuring that our community members have the resources to maintain healthy and meaningful lives while they wait to return to in-person events. Please visit our Active Older Adult Virtual Recreation page for numerous activities, classes, tours and adventures for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
The primary objective of the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Active Older Adult Program is to enhance the quality of life of active, older adults in San Marcos and the surrounding area. Our goal is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle by providing quality informational, educational, physical and social enrichment opportunities.
You may have noticed when registering for classes, many classes state that they are for ages 60 and above. This is because the “senior” discount at The San Marcos Activity Center is now available for individuals aged 60 and above. We will be using the age 60 when referring to “senior” activities, to avoid any confusion. Our Active Older Adult programs will be for ages 60 and above unless otherwise noted.
We have now moved many of our processes such as registering for classes, purchasing Activity Center memberships, and viewing the Out & About (Senior Newsletter), to an online format. In order to successfully be able to communicate with you, we need accurate contact information.
If you have registered for a class/program or rented a facility AND you provided us with an email, you already have an account. You need to log in and reset your password here.
If you have an account setup for online registration and know your password, please log in and make sure your contact information (cell phone and email) is correct.
If you do not have an account, please log in and create one here.
If you have any questions regarding your membership, please contact us at 512-393-8280 or email Parks and Recreation.
