Reindeer Games at Sights & Sounds of Christmas

Occurs annually the first and second weekend of December, Sights and Sounds of Christmas is a family-friendly Christmas festival that brings the holiday spirit to San Marcos. Come visit Youth Services at Reindeer Games and grab some handouts, play yard games and watch holiday films. We'll make sure you have a holly jolly good time! 

Wreaths Across America Day

Occurs annually the second Saturday of December. The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department is proud to participate in the national Wreaths Across America mission to place Remembrance Wreaths on the graves of Veterans who are resting in the San Marcos City Cemetery. To sponsor a wreath or volunteer to place wreaths on Wreaths Across America Day, please visit the Wreaths Across America website

Hollyday Gifts From Nature

Occurs annually in December. Learn how some of our nature-based holiday traditions got started while making holiday gifts and ornaments from items collected sustainably from nature at the San Marcos Discovery Center. Projects for all ages. Check our calendar below for more information.

Day One Kid's Run

Occurs annually in January. Start the year off right with this 1.1 mile trail fun run for kids! Run with and discover some of the creatures that make their home in our area during the winter. There will be snacks, prizes and more! Come dressed as your favorite woodland creature for added fun. Meet at Ramon Lucio Park. All ages encouraged to attend. Me & My Guy

Occurs annually in February. Young ladies and their father figures are invited to attend the Me & My Guy dance at the San Marcos Activity Center. There will be music, dancing, snacks and sweets, crafts and much more! Check our calendar below for more information.

Golden Sweetheart's Ball

Occurs annually in February. The Golden Sweethearts Ball is a special Valentine’s Celebration for couples and singles in San Marcos and surrounding communities. It includes an elegant dance with music, door prizes and a catered dinner. Attire is dressy to semi-formal. Tickets are limited and all ticket sales are final. Dances for Adults with Disabilities

Dances for Adults with Disabilities takes place six times each year with changing themes. Participants enjoy DJ music, dancing, door prizes and new friends. Our winter event take place in February. Check our calendar below for more information.
