Sustainability Fair & Spring Native Plant Sale

Occurs annually in April. Choose from a wide variety of native and adapted plants, including: perennials, grasses, shrubs, trees, and organic vegetables and herbs. Learn how you can make small changes at home and in the community to be more sustainable. Knowledgeable staff will be available at the San Marcos Discovery Center to assist with plant questions. Local organizations will have booths where you can learn more about environmental efforts and how you can get involved. Check our calendar below for more information.

Farmer Fred's Garden Spring Carnival

Occurs annually the Thursday before Easter. Farmer Fred invites all of his friends out to City Park for this community Carnival. The event features a free age-grouped egg hunt, carnival games, prizes, candy and much more! Check our calendar below for more information.

Mini & Me Tea

Occurs annually in May. Young ladies and the influential women in their lives are invited to attend a morning tea at the Pauline Espinosa Community Hall. Tickets include refreshments, snacks, activities, and a keepsake photo! Check our calendar below for more information.

Migratory Bird Day Festival

Occurs annually in May. Celebrate birds during this fun, interactive festival for the whole family at the San Marcos Discovery Center. Bird walks, music, games, partner booths, activities and a migratory bird obstacle course are a few of the things we have in store. This festival is part of a global effort to further migratory bird conservation around the globe by creating a worldwide campaign organized around the planet’s major migratory bird corridors. Party in Your Park

Party in Your Park takes place four times each year. We bring the party to you by visiting various neighborhood parks. Each event features family-friendly fun, including yard games, music, refreshments and more! Our spring Party in Your Park events take place in April and May. Memorial Day Ceremony

Occurs annually on Memorial Day at 10am at the Hays County Veterans Memorial. Veterans and community members will recite the names of all Hays County Veterans who were Killed in Action since WWI. In the event of inclement weather, the rainout site is the San Marcos Activity Center.

Dances for Adults with Disabilities

Dances for Adults with Disabilities takes place six times each year with changing themes. Participants enjoy DJ music, dancing, door prizes and new friends. Our spring event take place in April. Check our calendar below for more information.
