Party in Your Park

Party in Your Park takes place four times each year! We bring the party to you by visiting various neighborhood parks. Each event features family-friendly fun, including yard games, music, refreshments, and more. Our summer Party in Your Park event takes place in August. Check our calendar for more information.

Movies in Your Park

The Parks and Recreation Department hosts FREE Movies in Your Park every Tuesday in the summer. The movie will be shown in San Marcos Plaza Park and will begin at approximately 8:45pm. Check our calendar for more information. 

SummerFest

No 4th of July celebration is complete without the annual SummerFest firework show! Pack up a picnic blanket and your favorite snacks (alcohol and glass are not permitted) and make your way to the parking lots of the San Marcos Activity Center, San Marcos Public Library, City Park or Bobcat Stadium for great views of the fireworks display. Fireworks begin at 9:30pm. Patriotic music and a fireworks countdown will be simulcast on KTSW 89.9. For more information visit the SummerFest website.
