Citizen Comments at P&Z Meetings

The Planning and Zoning Commission welcomes written and oral comments from citizens at regular meetings.

Written Comments

Citizens may use the comment sheets provided in the Development Services-Planning Office in the Municipal Building, 2nd floor. Comment sheets can be submitted to the Planning Office during regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day of the Planning Commission meeting or in Council Chambers between 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Comments will be copied and distributed to the Planning Commission members. A citizen who wishes to submit other written material should submit the material to the Planning Department by 5 p.m. for distribution to commission members and designated staff.

Forms for Speaking

30-Minute Citizen Comment Period

Citizens wishing to speak must sign in at the Development Services Planning Office in the Municipal Building, 2nd floor during regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day of the meeting or from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. in Council Chambers. Speakers will have 1 opportunity to speak during the time period, and they must observe the 3-minute time limit.

If a Citizen speaks during the Citizen Comment Period on a topic listed on the agenda, including a public hearing topic, they cannot speak again on the public hearing item. Inquires from speakers about matters not listed on the agenda will either be directed to the staff or placed on a future agenda for Council to consider.
