  1. Adult Pickleball Open Play

    We have extended the hours for Adult Pickleball Open Play! It is now offered on Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 AM– 12:00 Noon and 9:00 – 11:30 AM on Fridays, at the San Marcos Activity Center. Pickleball is free for Activity Center members. Nonmembers will be charged the daily use rate of $3.00 for residents and $4.00 for nonresidents. Paddles and balls are available for those who do not have their own. If you would like to learn more about the sport, you are welcome to attend a session to observe and give it a try, free of charge.   3. 50+ Duplicate Bridge

    The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation has partnered with the Texas Capital Bridge Association to offer Duplicate Bridge every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center. The San Marcos club is a member of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), which has over 167,000 members who play duplicated bridge in 3200 clubs across the United States, Canada and Mexico.   1. Babysitters Training

    June 26, 2019, 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM

    The City of San Marcos and the Methodist Healthcare Ministries will host the Babysitters Training Course on Wednesday, June 26. This course is free to individuals ages 12 and older and will be held from 9:30 AM-3:30 PM at the San Marcos Activity Center. Students will learn about child development, safety, babysitting as a business, meals and snacks, and much more! This is not a Red Cross certified class. There is a limit of 25 participants and they are asked to bring their own lunch. A light breakfast and snacks will be provided. Registration begins May 13 - sign up early! You can register online or over the phone. Call Parks and Recreation at 512.393.8400 if you have any questions!

  1. Discovery Camp - Active Kid Week

    June 24, 2019, 7:30 AM - June 28, 2019, 5:30 PM @ Dunbar Recreation Center

    Come experience an adventure this summer with the City of San Marcos Discovery Camp! The Parks and Recreation Department is offering 9 themed weeks of exploring, adventure, and discovery for campers ages 5 to 10. Campers will have the chance to be outside, do experiments, build things, get messy, work as a team, develop leadership skills, and have fun! Lunch is provided by SMCISD. One field trip to various locations, two trips to the San Marcos Discovery Center, and a trip to the Rio Vista pool each week are included in camp fees. Registration for Residents will begin on April 2nd and for Non-Residents April 23rd of 2018.

  2. Summer Fun Week 3

    June 24, 2019, 7:30 AM - June 28, 2019, 5:30 PM

    Summer Fun is an 8 week long program (with a one week break between) hosted by the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department for kids ages 7-14 (they can be 6 if they have completed the first grade). SMCISD school sites’ TBD. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Breakfast and lunch are provided by SMCISD and one field trip a week is included in camp fees. Field trips are to the Rio Vista Pool, Starplex Movie Theatre, and Sunset Bowling Lanes. Registration for residents is $32/week and begins on April 1. Registration for non-residents is $50/week and begins on April 22.
