Hopkins St. announcing an increase in the Reward offered for information leading to the identification and/or arrest of the person(s) responsible for the Iconic Village Apartment Fire to $110,000.

The Iconic Village Fire took place on July 20, 2018 and resulted in five deaths and seven injuries, including one critical injury.

“We remember Dru, Belinda, Haley, David and James, and continue to cheer on Zach in his remarkable recovery,” said Fire Marshal Kelly Kistner. “Five precious lives were lost in this fire and it’s time for someone to step up and come forward with information to help solve this case for both the families and the community.”

The $110,000 reward consists of $25,000 from the ATF, $25,000 from the City of San Marcos, $40,000 from an anonymous donor, $10,000 from the local business community, and $10,000 from the victims’ families. Additional donations to increase the reward will continue to be accepted and anyone interested should contact Fire Chief Les Stephens at lstephens@sanmarcostx.gov or call 512.805.2661.

“We want to thank our partners at the ATF for their diligent efforts and for their participation in this collaborative reward,” said Chief Stephens. “Special thanks also to the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, to the families of Haley Frizzell and David Ortiz, and to our anonymous donor.”

To submit information about the fire, call 1-888-ATF-TIPS (283-8477), email ATFTips@atf.gov, or submit tips anonymously using the ReportIt app.
