Sunoco Robbery Video Surveillance photos

The San Marcos Police Department responded to the report of an aggravated robbery at Sunoco, 1200 Hwy 80, on Sunday, Nov. 29, and is asking the public for assistance in solving this crime.

Video Surveillance photo On Sunday morning, at approximately 12:29 a.m., an unidentified offender entered the Sunoco gas station wielding what appeared to be a stainless-steel lug wrench. The offender jumped over the cashier counter and ordered the clerk to open the cash register. The offender then stole cash from the register and leaped back over the counter.

At this point, a second clerk walked towards the counter from the back of the store. The offender noticed the clerk and approached him wielding the lug wrench in a threatening manner. The offender left the store without striking either employee with the lug wrench.

Video surveillance shows the offender is a black male in his early twenties, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a black hoodie, gray beanie, blue colored COVID style medical facemask, gray pants, and black shoes with white laces and white soles.

Video Surveillance photo The offender arrived and departed the Sunoco parking lot on foot.  He fled on foot southbound along River Road in the direction of Bugg Lane.

The Sunoco robbery suspect was not located and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident should contact Detective Davidson at 512.753.2315 or tdavidson@sanmarcostx.gov.  SMPD thanks the public for their continued assistance and support.
