On Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, the San Marcos Fire Department hosted their annual flag raising ceremony to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001. At this public flag raising ceremony, the San Marcos Fire Department Honor Guard raised the flag that flew over City Hall on September 11, 2001.  The poem “The Tolling of the Bell” was read followed by the ringing of the historical fire bell and a moment of silent reflection. Lastly, the public was invited to place flowers at a flower memorial, which stayed up all day Monday (until around 4:30) for anyone that wanted to stop by and add a flower. 

This event was held at City Hall, Monday, September 11th at 8:40am.
