Local artist Cathy Sparks will guide you through the process of selecting materials to design a compelling composition that is meaningful to you.   3. Summer Yoga Series: Yogic Breathing Techniques

    In this 40-minute zoom class, Cindy von Miller, Professional Nurse and Yoga Therapist will teach you two yogic breathing techniques to access your vital energy. Dirgha Pranayama relaxes the body and calms the mind. Ujjayi Pranayama calms and focuses the mind and can be used to invigorate an active asana practice, or simply give you more energy for your day. These practices are appropriate for everyone. You can pick up a packet of instructions at the library (not required for the class). Zoom link will be provided closer to the date of the program.

    With local unemployment at an all time high, and many people trying to return to work as the economy opens back up, the library has been receiving many questions about the best practices for securing a new position. Your résumé, cover letters, and job searches take time and skill. The library is offering professional, personalized assistance, to help local area residents through this time. The library's workforce specialist will open an online "room" to be available to walk you through your job search questions, interview practice, cover letter word choice, and any other workforce-related questions you have. Check our Facebook page for the link to the online "room" closer to the date of the program.

  8. Books Make Math Magic!

    Students from Texas State University’s Teacher Education program will host a fun-filled morning of math and literacy. These future teachers will read a variety of children’s stories, and then explore math concepts related to the story with kids. Adult guests are welcome to ask questions and learn strategies. This event is most appropriate for children ages 4-11. Sessions will run continuously, so you may join and leave at any time during the two hour event. Register is required. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the Zoom meeting.
