  1. Tales on the Trails

    March 25, 2021, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM @ Virginia Witte Way Trail at Schulle Canyon Natural Area

    The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department, San Marcos Public Library, and Community Action, Inc. are partnering to bring you Tales on the Trails. Each month will feature a different story that you can follow along with as you explore our beautiful parks and natural areas. Our March 2021 Tales on the Trails will be set up along Virginia Witte Way Trail at Schulle Canyon Natural Area beginning March 2 and will feature Mr. Hare's Big Secret by Hannah Dale. You and your family are invited to enjoy a self-guided tour along the 1/2 mile trail, located at 100 Ridgewood. Don't forget to take a photo during your visit and submit via email to Catherine Marler by April 1st to be entered into a drawing for a prize!   2. Book Matchmaking

    The librarians at the San Marcos Public Library are here to play matchmaker! Take a chance and let us set you up on a book date. If you’re lucky, you may even find your next favorite book! Fill out the linked form to participate. Based on your preferences we will place two books on hold for you. Once your items are available to pick up, you will receive a hold notice letting you know your items are ready. You must have a San Marcos Public Library card to participate.

  3. Inclusion and Equity in College Admissions

    March 25, 2021, 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM @ Online program hosted by The Princeton Review

    The Princeton Review will host a roundtable panel of admissions experts from across the country for a conversation on inclusion and equity in college admissions. Together, we will discuss Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI), LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,Transgender, Queer/Questioning) and other aspects of belonging in the college process. Our guests will offer their knowledge, as well as answer your questions. Register is required.

  4. Night Owl BUJO (Bullet Journaling)

    March 25, 2021, 10:00 PM - 10:40 PM @ Online program via Zoom.

    Are you a night owl? Got thoughts swirling around in your head? Join us January 28th from 10:00-10:40 p.m. (yes, that’s p.m.) for hot tea (or the beverage of your choice) and a bullet journal introduction/late night chat on Zoom. Registration on Engaged Patrons is required and limited to 10 patrons. Must be registered to pick up your Bullet Journal (that’s BUJO for those in the know) packet. Packets will be available from Jan. 19th-28th and contain: one 30-ish page dot journal, some colored pencils and a teabag! Participants will be entered in a drawing to win a tea mug!

  2. Golden Egg Scavenger Hunt

    March 12, 2021, 8:00 AM - March 29, 2021, 3:00 PM @ City Park

    We're celebrating spring with a Golden Egg Scavenger Hunt! Starting March 12 we will have 10 signs with images of golden eggs displayed between City Park & Children's Park. Starting at City Park, you will look for the first "egg". Each sign includes a QR code that you can scan with your phone to be directed to the participation form & next clue. Complete the form & use the clue to locate the next egg! You will make your way towards Children's Park where the final two clues will be located. Those who complete the scavenger hunt by locating at least eight of the "eggs" & filling out the Google form will be entered into a random drawing for a spring-themed treat bag. Treat bags will be available for pick up from the bunny himself via a drive-thru at the Activity Center on April 1 from 3:30-6:30 PM. The bunny will also be available for treat bag winners to take a distanced photo with! Participants will be asked to remain in their vehicles & the bunny will pose nearby for a photo.
