CDBG-DR Community Outreach for the Original Action Plan

The Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program addresses the needs of the community and is designed to make San Marcos more resilient and sustainable. In order to create a plan and implement projects that meet those goals the City requires input from the community through every step of the CDBG-DR process.

The City of San Marcos engages the community to ensure that flood survivors, community stakeholders and concerned citizens are provided  opportunities to review plans and policies. The City uses a variety of outreach methods to engage and collaborate with the community on this and other CDBG programs, from public meetings and hearings to social media engagement, websites, videos, surveys and when possible in-person contact.

Partnerships and input from disaster recovery organizations, social service and community organizations are also essential to the success of the program. Local community groups are encouraged to engage, participate and provide input throughout the CDBG-DR program.
