Adopt A Tree Heritage Oak Tree at the San Marcos Cemetery (water 1 time a month)

Adopt A Park Tree Watering in our local parks every 1-2 weeks.

EVERY Tuesday: Garden Maintenance Workdays

                Where: Discovery Center (420 Riverside Dr- across from Herbert’s Taco Hut)

                Time: 8am-11am

                Activity: learn about propagation; trail & demonstration bed maintenance, pond maintenance; tree care; composting; vegetable garden maintenance; bird watching maintenance

                Special instructions: wear close-toed shoes; all tools and supplies are provided

EVERY Wednesday: Downtown Clean Up

                Where: meet at the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce (202 CM Allen at Hutchison)

                Time: 8:30am-11:30am

                Activity: landscaping, sticker removal, litter cleanup, painting, and beyond!

                Special instructions: only need 3-5 volunteers each time

Sights & Sounds of Christmas Dec 1-3; Dec 8-10

                Where: Plaza Park (check in at 202 CM Allen- Chamber of Commerce) 

                Time: 2 shifts 4:30-8:30pm; 8pm-12am

                Activity: sorting eco-stations and picking up litter

                Special instructions: meet with team for instructions and get supplies; you will be able to stay if you work the 1st shift, or come early if you work the 2nd shift.

Friday Dec 2: River Planting Day

                Where: San Marcos River Falls (just below          Spring Lake- parking at City Park then a short walk through Sewell Park)

                Time: 10am-12pm

                Activity: We will be planting a diversity of native species including a mix of native grasses, riparian plants, understory trees, and bank stabilizing shade trees. Our goal is to plant native plants that will both beautify and stabilize the area, helping to prevent erosion during future rainfall, and flood events.

                Special Instructions: bring water and wear clothes appropriate for working outside

Saturday Dec 3: Hot Spot 

               Where: Willow Creek at Veterans Park (320 Mariposa)

               Time: 8-10am

               Activity: Pick up litter along Willow Creek

               Special instructions: wear close toed shoes; dress for the weather

Friday Dec 12: Friends of Trees

                Where: Conway Park (504 Bliss) 

                Time: 1-5pm
