Membership

The Historic Preservation Commission consists of 7 members, with the following makeup:

  • 1 member shall be a property owner or business owner within the downtown historic district
  • 2 member shall be a property owner or resident from designated neighborhood local historic district
  • 2 members shall be City residents who have demonstrated an interest in the history of the City
  • 2 members shall be a resident of the City or extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ), or shall be employed in the City or ETJ, and shall be from the architecture/design or historic preservation field of expertise

Responsibilities

This commission recommends, promote and approve the appropriateness and integrity of the 7 existing historic districts designed by the City of San Marcos.
