Fire & EMS Training Officer

Battalion Chief Aaron Crawford has been with the San Marcos Fire Department since 2001. He received his Firefighter Certification from McLennan Community College in Waco. Battalion Chief Crawford has served as a Firefighter, Engineer. Lieutenant, and Captain. The Battalion Chief over Training was created in 2014 and Chief Crawford is the first member of the San Marcos Fire Department to hold that position. He holds fire service certifications from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection in Advanced Firefighter, Fire Officer IV, Hazmat Technician, Instructor, Fire Investigator, EMT-B, and has finished the first year of the Texas Fire Chief's Academy.

Chief Crawford served in the United States Army from 1994 to 1998 as a Patriot Missile Operator serving most of his career at Ft. Bliss, TX including deployment to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

He is currently responsible for scheduling, tracking, administering, and developing training for all members of the department including EMS, Fire, and Hazardous Materials certifications.
