We are excited to announce our first ever USCF-rated tournament!

This tournament will award prizes in the amounts of $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, $25 for 3rd place in addition to trophies and other prizes but will be 100% FREE thanks to the generous sponsorship of The Root Cellar Cafe

The Root Cellar Cafe is so much more than just a restaurant, they are a integral part of the San Marcos Community. They instantly and eagerly offered to sponsor our event because they believe in what we are trying to do and our philosophy of NO barriers to entry for anyone, not even an entry fee. Countless times over the years, I have seen The Root Cellar support the community in any way they can. I highly encourage everyone to show them some love right back and support them.

Dec 11th at 11am at the San Marcos Public Library

USCF membership is required

Sets and clocks WILL be provided

There is NO ENTRY FEE but donations are always welcome

This tournament is limited to 50 players so don't delay registering!

Because it is USCF-rated WITH prize money AND sets and clocks provided with NO ENTRY FEE...we fully expect the 50 spots to fill up very fast. In chess this is unheard of but we are set on shaking up the chess tournament world!

The first round will start promptly at 11am and players are highly encouraged to arrive by 10:30am. Check-in will be from 10:30am to 10:50am. Online registration via the form is MANDATORY and NO ONSITE REGISTARTION WILL BE ALLOWED
