The Planning & Development Services Office received an application for a partial demolition of a portion of the building at the rear of the building, the removal of the aluminum slipcover on the front façade of the building, and the demolition of the awning attached to the front façade of the building, located at 133 South LBJ Drive. The building was evaluated with a Medium preservation priority in the My Historic SMTX historic resources survey. Therefore, the application is subject to the regulations of Chapter 2, Article 7, Division 4: Demolition Review of Historic Age Resources of the San Marcos Development Code.
The Historic Preservation Commission of the City of San Marcos will hold a public hearing via a hybrid of an in person and virtual meeting on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 5:45 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins to consider the 90-day demolition delay period and discuss alternatives to demolition and methods for potential preservation of historic character of the property.
