San Marcos residents are encouraged to visit a temporary art exhibit that aims to spread awareness about water conservation in Texas. A public gallery opening for the Sacred Springs Kite Exhibition will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the San Marcos Public Library, 625 E. Hopkins St., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The exhibition includes a collection of over 50 kites created by national and local artists. It debuted in Austin last spring as the inaugural event of the Wimberley Valley Watershed Association non-profit organization’s Art4Water program, which promotes ecological sustainability and environmental protection through art.
The Sacred Springs Kite Exhibition will be displayed in San Marcos until September 30 through a partnership with the San Marcos Arts Commission. Residents interested in viewing the exhibition can visit any of the participating San Marcos locations during business hours, which include:
- San Marcos Public Library, 625 E. Hopkins St.
- San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins St.
- The Meadows Center for Water & the Environment, 211 San Marcos Springs Dr.
