    The librarians at the San Marcos Public Library are here to play matchmaker! Take a chance and let us set you up on a book date. If you’re lucky, you may even find your next favorite book! Fill out the linked form to participate. Based on your preferences we will place two books on hold for you. Once your items are available to pick up, you will receive a hold notice letting you know your items are ready. You must have a San Marcos Public Library card to participate.

Parks & Rec Youth Programs

  1. Spring Kits on Sale

    March 26, 2021 - April 12, 2021

    The Youth Services Division is will be offering spring themed at-home kits for purchase this March! Each activity kit is designed for two people and includes a variety of themed items, such as: recipe cards, crafts, pre-packaged snacks, outdoor activities, and a few more surprises! There is a limited quantity available and each kit costs $5.00. Kits will be available for pre-order online from March 26th-April 12th with pick up on Tuesday, April 20th and Thursday, April 22nd. Pick up will be held at the Parks and Recreation office (401 E Hopkins) via a limited contact pick up between 9 AM-6 PM on both days. Upon arrival, please call staff at 512-738-3285. Staff will ask for your identification and then bring the kit(s) to your vehicle. Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing at pick up.

  2. Tales on the Trails/Roll & Read

    The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department, San Marcos Public Library, and Community Action, Inc. are partnering to bring you Tales on the Trails in conjunction with Roll & Read! The April 2021 Tales on the Trails and Roll & Read event will be set up between San Marcos Plaza Park and Children's Park and will feature "Mermaids are Magical - You Can Be Too" by Marieta Hutchison. You and your family are invited to take a self-guided tour along the accessible trail between San Marcos Plaza Park and Children's Park, starting at the mermaid statute in Plaza Park. Please show respect when enjoying our programs and beautiful natural areas by not removing or destroying items along the trail system. Thanks for helping make this program successful for our whole community!
